There are many oddities to be found on Vancouver Craigslist. These ads often seem too good to be true – like an African spear and shield for $150 that Rick is offering. Or, an ad for 11 metallic pom poms with handles for $30 – or an offer to unite tree-climbing enthusiasts. Of course, the oddities don’t stop there. In Vancouver, they also include bizarre things like a drum circle and home births.
Find a ferry for sale
If you’re looking to buy a boat, it may be worthwhile to check out the ferry listings on Vancouver Craigslist. You might be able to pick up a bargain. For example, a decommissioned ferry named the North Island Princess is listed on Craigslist for $159,000. The ferry has a capacity of 150 people and a capacity of 38 cars, but it’s not exactly a modern ship, as it was built in 1958 and rebuilt in 1971. The ferry’s former owner, Francine Erickson, was the last person to move away from the townsite when it closed in 1973, so it’s hard to imagine how she might use the vessel today.
In addition to the ferry itself, you might also be able to find a decommissioned BC Ferries vessel. A listing on Vancouver Craigslist features the North Island Princess, which is the oldest vessel in the BC Ferries fleet. It had been sailing on the Powell River-Texada route since 1979. There’s a semi-functional washroom in the house, and the landlord is looking for a minimum one-year lease. It is located near Hastings Street and 1st Avenue. If you’re looking to live in a city with a strong rental market, Vancouver may be a good place to look.
You’ll want to make sure you check on your rental listings frequently. If you receive no responses after a week or so, send a few more emails. When the renter doesn’t respond, make phone calls. Many rental sites allow you to send yourself an email reminder, and Craigslist is no different. This way, you’ll know right away when a new listing comes up. Also, be sure to take your deposit, which is usually one month’s rent.
